Why You Need Sole Water In Your Keto & Fasting Life

What the heck is sole water? Pronounced ‘so-lay’, sole water is Pink Himalayan salt mixed with water to create salt water. See my video for further demonstration

UPDATE FEB 2020:

Since writing this blog post on my 75+ lb weight loss journey, I have come to LOVE & recommend Redmond’s Salt based out of Utah. I love Redmond’s Salt salt mine, I love their clean food philosophy and Redmond Salt still provides the benefits of sole water (salt water).

You will see throughout this article where I have changed pink salt to Redmond Salt. It’s important to me as I evolve, that I update my weight loss materials & products as I continue to transform. 🙂

Sole Water Facts:

There are over 60+ minerals in Redmond Salt.  The most important, in my humble-non-doctor-non-medical-opinion & based off personal experience, is the added magnesium and potassium.

Magnesium and potassium are needed for keto and for intermittent fasting and are in sole water.

Sole Water Helps With:

  • Sleep from the minerals
  • Digestion (rookie note – don’t take sole water as a shot on an empty stomach if you are not near a restroom…the Countess does not talk of such things, of course)
  • Electrolytes – YESSSSA Queen! You need these.
  • Muscle cramps
  • For fasting, helping with cravings
  • …to name a few…

I like using glass bottles that I keep in the fridge (vs Pellegrinos). I do need to change out the metal lids on these glass bottles, but they have been fun to use during 48 hour fasts.

How To Make Sole Water:

  • Mix 1/4 cup of Redmond Salt with 3/4 cup filtered water in a plastic or glass jar. I love using quart mason jars.
  • Do NOT use metal (think of a car at the beach or snow with salt on a car).
  • Let the mixture sit overnight.
  • I like using saran wrap or plastic mason jar lid.
  • Serving size is .5-1 tablespoon mixed with 1 cup of filtered water per serving.
  • Make this mixture your own, though, and do what you can stand.
  • I typically have 3-5 servings of the sole mixture per day.
  • On days I don’t drink sole water, I can feel it.
