The Coronavirus outbreak has led to many question marks for the upcoming year. I want to be clear that my intention is to never to be chicken little or doomsday, but rather focusing on how to best be prepared. As a result, I am compiling an updated list for emergency preparedness supplies for the low carb diet if it becomes suggested to stay home for a month or more.

Full disclosure I have intentionally kept my head in the sand about the Coronavirus as I don’t want to get overly hyped.

However, after listening to an excellent NY Time podcast today and also reading a well thought blog post, I have begun to learn more about the Coronavrius and what that potentially could mean in the next year.

Coronavirus At Home?

What if we were suggested to stay home for a month?

Do you have supplies to stay in your home for a month? …Besides an on call therapist. Kidding. I didn’t and starting to think further about this has led me to the mindset I want to be prepared. Not hysterical or hyped, but well prepared.

Packaged Foods That Are Low Carb

I have intentionally started to think further about being well prepared in case there is an epidemic and we were forced to stay at home for a month. Would I have everything I needed?

Amazon Direct Emergency List

Here’s is the direct link to the Low Carb Emergency Preparedness Foods On Amazon.

Normally I don’t eat too many low carb packaged foods, but items need to be shelf stable.

Again, a lot of these items I would normally eat sparingly. But my intention is to have shelved low carb products for a family of 3 people for potentially 30 days.

Obviously, you would not be going out to eat so all meals would need to be at home. The more I think about the potential of being at home, the more I am adding to this list.

Make Sure You Have Extra

I have begun to think of household items besides food we would need if we were stuck inside for a month.

  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Soap
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Dish Detergent
  • Dog Food & Cat Food

Items To Plan & Think About

  • Medication for a month out
  • Formula
  • Baby Food
  • Diapers
  • Pet’s medication

…Masks and gloves…I’ve seen masks and gloves being sold for $100+ for a 3 pack of masks. I’m saving these for the medical professionals.
